MuTekis Jamar Williams did not start as a writer. He started as a survivor. Born and raised in North Charleston, South Carolina, his early life was shaped by the streets, the system, and the silence that comes from not knowing how to tell your own story.

Years of incarceration gave him something he didn't expect: time. Time to read. Time to think. Time to understand that the darkness he had been living in was not a destination — it was a classroom. The lessons he learned there became the foundation of everything he would eventually write.

When he came home, he didn't go back to what he knew. He built something new. Immortal Souljah Publications was the vehicle — an independent publishing house that would give voice to the stories mainstream publishing ignores. Stories of survival. Stories of the streets. Stories of transformation.

Today, ISP has published over a dozen titles across memoir, philosophy, and urban fiction. The catalog spans the full arc of MuTekis's experience — from the raw testimony of the memoir series, to the street-tested philosophy of A Hustla's Mentality, to the cinematic drama of the Kuti Family Saga.

But the mission is bigger than books. Through the Beyond Boundaries program, ISP works to get books into the hands of incarcerated individuals — because MuTekis knows firsthand what a book can do when you're in the dark.
